Zev (they/them) is a non-binary, Jewish director and photographer located in LA. Zev's work focuses on the positive and colorful aspects of queerness to move away from the trauma-centered stories we most often see about the queer experience. Working as a production designer for many years has informed their directorial work to have a strong emphasis on imaginative and surreal worlds. Their creative style blends strong color palettes, kitsch, and vintage aesthetics. Zev's surrealist short film, “Reasons To Stay” won Best US Short Film at Another Hole in the Head Film Festival in 2021. Zev also frequently works with musicians directing music videos, creating album artwork and promo visuals. Outside of creative work, Zev co-produces The Secret Circus LA, enjoys bodies of water, and loves their two cats, Momo and Remy, very much.
